RED DOOR HOME  originated in Singapore, where two Melbourne natives, both sharing a background in art and design, found commonality in their passion for unique, contemporary style and materials. Inspired by the original pieces they found on their travels, in particular by the unusual design elements which contrasted reclaimed timber with stainless steel and glass, red door home was established with a view to bring back the best of Asian design elements to Australia. With a focus on individuality, and simple, clean, contemporary style, RED DOOR HOME seeks to bring beauty to the home and honor a responsibility to the environment and the impact we have.

Sophistication meets sustainability

All of the wood used in our furniture is reclaimed/recycled from old buildings and houses that have been abandoned, ruined or destroyed for rebuilding. Known in India as ‘sal’(Shorea Robusta), the wood is derived from a species of tree native to southern asia and prized for its durability and coarseness. In terms of rigidity, durability, fiber and strength, there is no substitute.
